Sorry for the layoff on a blog post, It has been a busy turn of the new year. Figured I would make a post. This is fresh off the lathe and onto a piece of all thread for a new rod I am in the process of constructing. Borrowing from the Michigan handle style, this style of handle is a great “egg pitching” setup when fishing for steelhead in the Pennsylvania tributaries. Making short casts by flipping repeatedly is a standard in fishing the smaller runs of our streams, so being able to hold your hand up higher while holding your line in the other makes for nice underhand short casts time and time again.
The handle consists of burnt block cork, special dalmatian composite makes up the trim rings and entire rear handle. This is going to be installed a IF966 2 pc blank.
